Algerian Field Jacket
There are four large cargo pockets on the front of the jacket. They feature side bellows and drain holes at the bottom of the pockets, elastic webbing on the inside to secure smaller items like magazines or a flashlight, and tuckable flaps w/adjustable snaps. The top pockets also each feature a vertical zippered “Napoleon” security pocket. On the left sleeve there is a zippered pocket as well as a pen holder. The front of the jacket secures with a hidden zipper and snap closure. The zipper is strategically placed to keep the jacket closed yet still allow you freedom of motion and the ability to reach under your jacket. There are four internal pockets with elastic loops for securing additional gear. Underarm vent holes offer maximum air flow. Other features include a drawstring bottom with cordlock and elastic cuffs with adjustable button closure. The style of our Field Jacket is timeless and looks equally good on the street or in the field.
The Details
The Operator Grade Field Jacket is soon to become your favorite outerwear piece. It’s based on a European military issue Algerian Jacket from the late Fifties with features that are as functional today as they were then. We started with our extremely durable and wear resistant 9 ounce all-cotton Iron Twill. To further enhance durability, the fabric is treated with DuPont Teflon� fabric protector offering a breathable, durable barrier that repels both water and oil based spills.
The tab can also be folded in to prevent accidental closure of the vest. Four front pockets feature hook-and-loop flap closures and an expansion pleat. The vented back design provides superior air flow through the garment and side tabs provide adjustment for a custom fit. A padded collar adds to the overall comfort of the vest.
Featuring twelve strategically placed multi-use pockets, including two hidden back pockets, four cargo pockets and two utility pockets, they are built to take a beating with critical seams double-needle stitched and bar-tacked at stress points. The waist band has side elastic panels for all-day comfort and freedom of movement and there is a concealed brass zipper front fly along with a metal tack-button closure for strength and reliability. The reinforced belt loops will accommodate belts up to 2 inches wide.
