Car safes and gunvault safes with a tied down coard

gunvault safes Gunvault gun safes and pistol holders will help keep your firearms organized and in a safe manor.  Keep your kids and burglars away from your firearms and bolt them to hidden areas in your home.   Technology has caught up with gun safety and the Gunvault biometric is worth the peach of mind of knowing you can quickly access your firearms and you can restrict who has the access.   Pistol racks will keep your guns from banging around in a gun safe and for those that have put the investment in firearms, invest in a versatile rack to keep those dents and dings and help you show off your collection to friends.  The GunVault microvault gun safe is extremely popular for people wanted to hide firearms or jewelry in their homes or while traveling, this small concealable safe can be hidden while traveling on the road.   Hide money or other valuables in this compact safe.

Many people ask us about car safes and travel safes and gunvault has the smaller microvault is big enough for a full size firearm like the XD45 or a Beretta 92FS.   These type of Gunvault safes for sale all come with a key to open it the batteries go dead or you have a programming issue.   The Gunvault safe also comes with a metal cord that you can loop through the safe when it is closed and attach it to a secure area of your car or in your trunk.  This is a great selling point because considering how small the safes are they can be stolen if not secured.

Handgun safes aren’t what they use to be

Gun safe technology has so dramatically improved over the last decade that leaving loaded firearms around the house or having an excuse for not locking up your guns is over.  Gun theft is the number one reason criminals get a hold of firearms and hiding guns in a closet, next to a bed can easily be found.  Home security systems can be defeated and having levels of security protecting firearms is the responsible thing to do.  Handgun safes can easily be used for jewelry, money, or other valuables besides firearms.

The Gunvault minivault can be bolted down into a car or area and then hidden.  The Gunvault breechvault and AR15 magvault give you alternative ways of locking up shotguns and carbines so they can not be used easily. There use to be concerns about having loaded firearms in a house with children, but now that gunvault technology has become so reliable, there should be no concern about it anymore.  Biometric gun safes will give you another level of security to prevent children or anyone unauthorized to gain access to your firearms.  Gun safes can have dual uses for important documents and records as well as defensive measures.

We don’t need new laws, but you do need to you lock your guns up

I don’t think we need anymore laws put on the books, but after all of the emotion about the CT shooting, many people have come to the conclusion that mental health issues are serious issues and the mother of the shooter was partially responsible for the crime.   If you know you have an immature or unstable family members, you have to lock your guns up or move them out of the house.  There are always people in your family or in  your circle of friends that you should limit your involvement with when it comes to showing them your firearms.  There as been much said about how some anti-gun newspapers or politicians are trying to announce who has firearms and that it a dangerous precedent to set.

Not only are you divulging personal information you are also announcing which houses the bad guys might want to stake out for burglaries.   There is no reason to not lock up yours guns and we highly recommend gunvault safes for those that conceal carry and need daily access to a firearm.  These safes are normally in the $100 price range and can be bolt under your bed or in a hard to see area.   Biometric safes can give you more security and prevent family members from learning a code.  There are always pros and cons to any item but these are something any firearm instructor or NRA member should urge gun owners to  use.

Years of feedback from customers about gunvault safes

We’ve been using them ourselves for almost 10yrs and there have been big changes to the product  line since we started using them.  The buttons have chang, the doors have changed and now they are making some of the best compact or small gun safes.   I guess its due to the bad economy  but we have sold more and more of the Gunvault microvault and nanovaults in recent  months to people using them in cars.  Not only are these good car safes for your firearm, but they are great for locking up and securing cash.  Every township or State is different regarding gun laws and security can vary from bank to bank.  Here in Pennsylvania some banks have metal detectors and you can’t carry a firearm in without setting off an alarm, you have to take it off of you when going in.

There are some criticisms about some of the biometric safes but they run more reliable than firearms.  Depending on which gunvault safes you are looking to purchase, there are battery operated ones and electrical ones.   I would suggest always using batteries and actually hiding the safe in a close and not out in the open.  Many people forget that gun safes that are not properly bolted down can easily just be picked up with a  hand truck or physically carried out of the house.   You can customize the way  you secure your gun safe in a car or a vehicle.  You may want to walk into a store that stocks them because matching up firearms to gun safes is something you want to think about ahead of time before you attach something to a gun and find out the safe doesn’t work for you anymore.

Home invasions and burglaries on the rise

Everyone I know that owns a firearm has a story about why they own a particular firearm.   Somebody might prefer to carry a said firearm but when it comes to being a nightstand gun, things can change.   Sometimes you don’t want a full size auto in an IWB holster but as a gun you want to make a stand with, that Full size Glock 17 is what you want.  Night Sights are also primarily sold to people for home defensive weapons as well as putting flashlights on them.   A flashlight being carried with a gun means getting and using a different type of holster and that is a whole other can of worms.

When it comes to locking up your firearms, there is now absolutely no reason to not lock your guns up.   Gunvault safes will hold your firearm whether you are using a laser grip, Crimson Trace or other, flashlight, or spare magazines.   Gunvault safes come in a very wide and versatile price range.  Biometric technology has become far more reliable in recent years and they seem to have their stuff in order.   If  lock up your guns and properly mount them the way the gunvault safes are meant to, you will also reduce the chances of having a burglary become a gun theft.

Are gun locks obsolete?

I’ve come to the conclusion that unless you are traveling and want to prevent someone from using a firearm against you on the road, gun locks are pointless to keep on a firearm.   As a matter of fact let me revise my opinion.   Gun locks are a waste of money and do not make your firearm more safe.  The traditional two piece gun lock the locks inside the trigger guard if  not absolutely rock solid tight can still cause a firearm to shoot if bumped.   What’s the frickin point of that?   Keep the gun unloaded and store the ammunition in a hidden place.  If the point is to keep children away from them, put them in a safe.  If you are concerned about theft or fire damage, get a gun safe.

With the advent of Biometric technology, many reasons for not locking up a firearm are now over.   I think  you are asking for more problems if you leave a loaded gun in your home and it is not in a safe.  Guns can get used against  you and children know how to get into things when Mom and Dad aren’t around. Gunvault gun safes are more diverse in application then from years ago and I have a few Biometric safes that are holding up as advertised.  They work great for keeping money and jewelry in and the Nanovault NV 100 is something I travel with.

Keeping kids away from firearms

I’m going to continue to post info about this because I do not think it is common knowledge that gun safes are far more reliable and easy to access than ever before and there is no excuse for not locking up your loaded firearms.   I have conducted several firearms training courses where I have taught students that have never fired a gun before and they were all interested in learning how to keep a loaded firearm in their home and not have to worry about a kid getting a hold of it.   Gunvault gun safes are the best option and I strongly suggest people consider putting them in one or more places in their homes.   The best place is always the master bedroom, but a biometric gun safe means nobody but you can access it or anyone that you program to can use it.

I’m still waiting for the day when Gunvault gun safes comes up with a safe for a quick access AR15 or shotgun, but there are ways to conceal a location of a Carbine or shotgun and I personally would recommend a Remington 870 over a handgun any day and some ballistics tests I have seen would tend to say that a .223 fragmenting bullet is also a better option in a residential area where dry wall and partical board prevails.  Do yourself a favor and pick up the best Gunvault gun safe that you can afford and get your firearms locked up for safeties sake.

Guns by the nightstand, is that level of security dangerous?

I have a few family members that grew up knowing where Dad kept his gun and some of them have even informed me that they use to play with them and friends knew where they kept them.   I believe that I would be accurate in saying that children back then were more aware of what real guns did and that even if they knew where they were, they were not as dumb as some children are today and ended up shooting themselves.  Back  in my Grandparents day, guns were left in Dad’s closet or by the nightstand and everyone knew that it might be loaded.  That era of gun handling seems to have disappeared from Urban thought these days.   I always keep track of the number of gun accidents I hear about on the radio and use them in my teaching sessions.

I would never tell you that you shouldn’t have a gun in any place that you feel confident that it should be, but I will tell you that considering the number of people that may be in your home, especially if you have children it’s a good idea to keep all of your guns locked up.   Gunvault gun safes are hands down the best and fastest gun safes to open, you can easily bolt them  in hard to reach (from a child’s hands) and harder to steal if properly mounted.   If you want to put a gun safe next to your night stand or on it, you should sleep better knowing that it is as easy for you to get to as a push of 4 or 5 buttons or spend the money for the Biometric safe and know that only your hands or other authorized hands can open it.

Putting a price on gun safes

When I think back to the first Gunvault gun safe was that I picked up and how much I liked being able to store loaded firearms in easy to open storage, I can’t believe the technological improvements there have been to an already original idea.     I work in and out of various locations where sometimes I have to actually take my firearm off and on 3 or 4 times a day.    Various security and Government buildings that I’m in don’t allow this so I have to think about the type of gun holsters I am wearing and how easy it will be to get things off and on.   I still mostly use paddle  holsters or clip on IWB holsters because they are so easy to get off and on.

One issue that has been been happening to several of my computer friends is they can’t leave things in their car at all anymore.   I know of 2 smash and grab incidences in recent weeks where lap tops were stolen, but even though I know better than leaving my stuff in sight, you never know when it could happen.  I have been looking more and more and getting a Gunvault gun safe bolted to my car floor or in the trunk just so that anyone that gets into the car would have a heck of a time trying to pry the safe out.   Getting my lap top is one thing, but a criminal getting my firearm is something I want to avoid at all costs.   The difference between the biometric gun safes and the regular ones is about a 100 bucks, but I’m not really looking to pay that price for quick access when the gun is really only being stored there for anti-theft reasons.

Transporting guns while travelling

Whenever I go away on vacation, I have to pay attention to the States that we are crossing into because some of the States are not CCW friendly at all.  As a matter of fact, I’d be a criminal and get thrown in jail if I carried a gun in some States.   Every once in awhile I hear about a story about someone that crossed into a State with unloaded firearms and ran into a bad cop and ended up not knowing how to deal with the person and got into problems.   One way to avoid the situation is to keep your guns out of sight, avoid getting yourself into a situation where it’s obvious that you have a car load of firearms.

Another thing to think about is actually putting small gun safes like the Gunvault gun safes inside your car for added security.   There were a few major incidences in recent years of gun owners getting their cars broken into in and around gun shows because criminals would wait for them to stop and go into a restaurant or food store and then make their smash and grab.   A gun show vendor actually lost several thousand dollars of firearms because of something like this.  Conceal you firearm when you are carrying and conceal and lock up your guns when travelling.
