Smith Optics Elite new products, new year….

We always have our favorite product lines each year that put  put out new and interesting things and always impress us.   Original Swat, Tru-Spec, Trijicon and now Smith Optics Elite are on our list.   There are many products that we sell that our employees wear and use every day and will personally attest to their clarity, durability or value.   When many of us first started wearing the Smith Optics Eyewear it all seemed like over priced shooting range glasses until we actually wore them and looked through them.  We’ve had guys come in here and say they get the cheap stuff at the hardware store, but none of them knew about the prescription lense options or the manufacturer’s warranty on the eyewear.

Many of the goggles that we sell are similar to each other, but Smith Optics Elite came out with a lo-profile goggle in multicam last year as well as the very well received boogie regulator google.   The boogie regulators are really big for sky diving and airsoft and we’re amazed at  how  broad these Smith Optics Elite goggles have been accepted.  I read a few negative reviews from people about them  online but that has not been our experienced.  When entire tactical teams are walking in the door and send their buddies in the next week, and nobody complains about them, and they are getting used, we know we have a good product.

Boogie Regulators best bang for the buck

The Boogie Regulator opens up our eyewear product line to something new and general inexpensive eyewear.   Some ballistic eyewear might not work for you due to the design and frame and that’s why it’s always nice to be able to walk into a stocking Smith Optics Elite dealer.   The Boogie Regulator is an easy product to wear because there are multiple ways of wear it.  Check out the above Youtube video for the Smith Optics Elite boogie regulator goggles accessory.

The boogie regulator comes in 3 different lense designs, there is no frame to have interchangeable lenses so you might need to buy more than one.  These ballistic goggles are available in clear, gray and ignitor. These Smith Optics Elite goggles are the most practical thing to wear while riding a motorcycle, taking a Carbine or Defensive firearm course, send them off to your kids in the Military or give it to your Dad for Father’s day.

Smith Optics Elite Lifestyle ballistic eyewear gives you the protection you need but with a stylish look. The Hideout Tactical Eyewear is available in clear, gray, Polarized Gray and the new Brown Polarized sunglasses. Smith Optics has been around for a very long time and making quality eyewear is something Smith Optics has proven. It’s always best to be able pickup things like this at a stocking dealer so you can try them on.  All of the tactical lifestyles Smith Optics Elite ballistic eyewear are used by our local Law Enforcement and Government Security officials.   Tactical Teams and Swat teams a like use the Boogie Regulator and Smith Optics Elite Outside the Wire ballistic goggles like the Lo Pro goggle and the Turbo Fan goggle. More Boogie Regulator Feedback

These have been one of the hottest selling pieces of eyewear in recent years and it’s been fun watching the diverse groups of people show up at our door looking for them.   We feel we’ve gotten enough feed back from customers that we can actually answer our other customers questions with honest answers.   The Boogie Regulators are hot sellers because they are very reasonable priced compared to the rest of the Smith Optics Elite product line.  I personally prefer the Smith Optics Elite Eyeshields due to their broad visibility and lack of having any blind spots.
The Smith Optics Elite eyewear has covered a lot of ground since we first started carrying the product line.   These new Boogie regulators have continued to be hot sellers but we’ll be honest about what they are good for.  Many SWAT Teams and tactical teams have used these but they are really meant for moving operators and you may have some issues with them fogging up due to the fact they are closed optics.  The vents can be opened and closed and if you are constantly moving, jumping out of an air plane ect. they are really good to  use.  If you are dealing with hot temps you may want to stick with the eyeshields.

Ballistic Eyewear in Stock

There are only a few optics companies that are approved by the United States Military and Smith Optics Elite are one of them. The Outside the wear goggles are used by many military and Law Enforcement. Many of our customers are active military and when they have the option to try out something other than what they are issued, they are choosing the Smith Optics Elite. There are replacement lenses for the Outside the Wire googles and improved ballistic protection.

The OTW Turbo Fan solves a problem that many optics run into. When you are in a situation where taking your safety gear off and your goggles are fogging up the silent Smith Optics Elite turbo fan will reduce fogging immediately. For law enforcement, the Smith Optics Tactical Lifestyle glasses come in clear, gray, Polarized gray and the Ignitor for all of the glasses. The Director, Lockwood, Hideout series all have a unique feel and look to them as well as the other styles. They will give you UV protection so you can keep your eyes on your job without eye strain.

Brick and Mortar stores for tactical gear and clothing

There use to be a well known Army Navy Store here in the Philadelphia Suburbs that was family owned and we use to go there to get our cub scout gear.  They had shovels camping gear, sleeping bags and war props.   Those were fun days for us but that industry just faded away in South Eastern Pennsylvania.  It’s hard to even find a place where you can check out a Swiss Army Knive.  The internet is a booming industry but there is still so much competition amongst brick and mortar stores.  I have friends that shop at Victoria’s Secret for clothing for their wives because shopping online is too hard.  In this industry the same things happen for women trying to find the correct style and color of tactical clothing.  Many will ask what multi-cam is and what color is coyote brown.

On the other hand the average guy will have no idea how to explain what color turquoise is and is going to want to walk into a store to see it.   Backpacks and duty bags are Mission driven and tactical clothing is no different.  The differences between 100% cotton ripstop pants, Blackhawk Polycotton ripstop pants, Tru Spec Polycotton ripstop and 5.11 lightweight tactical pants are also very different.  Pocket designs are unique, some are good for a knife, others have different cargo pockets and may or may not work for you.  We got asked this question all the time about the differences between Eotac and Woolrich Elite tactical clothing.  All of these products  have their pros and cons and it really depends on what your needs are.

Boogie Regulator reviews from customers

The most popular selling Smith Optics Elite eyewear we have now is the new Boogie regulator.  Lots of military personnel have been putting in orders with us for this eyewear and for $40 it really is the best bang for the buck.  We were shocked when we saw the price tag on these because not only are they half the price of regular goggles that are probable more practical to wear for a SWAT Team or a tactical team.  We’ve seen numerous images of Chris Costa and Travis Haley wearing the Smith Optics Elite eyewear and the product line has really taken a strong hold in the tactical and military community.

It always amazes me how certain products we sell crossover to other markets and this piece of ballistic eyewear is one of those products.  We get a lot of Bikers showing up at our doors for boots and footwear but the Smith Optics Elite Boogie regulator googles cross over to anyone on a bike.   The gray lense and ignitor lenses seem to be more popular than the clear but many of the Police that are on motorcycles have been buying them also.  The venting seems to work very well if  you are moving and the ambidextrous adjustments for opening and closing the ventilation are easy to use.

You get what you pay for in optics, firearms and safety equipment

I got a hold of a few samples of other ballistic eyewear this week and it’s been over a year that I have been wearing the Smith Optics Elite division of eyewear.   I’ve worn safety glasses for almost  20yrs and couldn’t tell the difference between the ones I used for cutting the lawn and weed wacking vs the ones I wore when I was shooting a 22lr rifle at boy scout camp.   The one thing I have learned over the years is to make sure I put the glasses back in a case or have a clip on cover over my car visor so they don’t get scratched up.  Even ballistic eyewear can get scraped up and once that is done, it will no longer be of much use causing blind spots or annoyances.

The tactical lifestyle eyewear has a broaders customer base and is very popular with range officers.   The ballistic eyewear from Smith Optics Elite has grown in 2012 and the new Boogie regulator and the lo profile googles have caught on.   We still carry the smith Optics elite standard goggles and the Turbo fan goggles but due to so many variations in military helmets and such, you need a broader selection of goggles for those  operating out of helicopters, using night vision and those in standard issue kevlar helmets.   We are a full line dealer and have a large selection in our store for  you to check out so stop in sometime.

Looing for eyewear but not sure what to buy?

We have been very happy with the Smith Optics Elite eyewear and in 2012 the product line has gotten even better with the low profile googles and our favorite the Boogie Regulator.   I have gone through piles of safety glasses over the years and mostly because they got so scratched up it affected my visibility and interfered with my targeting of things while on the range.  I have had some issues in the past where if I did not have protection I would have been blinded.   There’s nothing like having a 7.62 nato round go off in a magazine 10 inches from your face.   Googles tend to be pretty bulky and there are wide variations in fit and sizing.

If you want an easy fix for a product that has several ways it can be attached to your helmet or head, check out the Smith Optics Elite Boogie Regulator.   This piece of eyewear won’t break the bank and the Boogie Regulator from Smith Optics Elite comes in a gray, clear and ignitor.    There is a lever on each side of the eyewear that opens and closes so you can allow air to move through it and reduce any fogging.   I would consider these to be the best ballistic eyewear to use for new shooters because it’s very secure and not bulky for shooting through rifle scopes.

It’s not all about goggles and glasses

There are many options that are not as bulky as your typical tactical or ballistic goggles.   Some of the ballistic eyewear product lines aren’t that different from each other, other than what part of the Country the person making the purchases gives his or her approval for.   We have people walk in here all the time that are looking for cheap shooting glasses and we have some of those on the wall for $10.  When it comes to serious shooting, though, you want to keep your glasses in a case so they don’t get messed up sooner than they are suppose to.   All gear and accessories will wear out, but the Smith Optics Elite division has a warranty service that will repair your eyewear if you get it scratched or damaged except for the frame.

Right now the biggest rave amongst our eyewear are the boogie regulators.  Everytime we bring up these  Smith Optics Elite eyewear  we hear a wise crack about the boogie, but these fast on and off goggles are getting out amongst our local bike patrols and motorcycle cops.   I’ve tested them out myself and I’m still not sure if I like them more than my Aegis eye shields.  I very much like the newer Aegis eyeshields because the fit is a little tighter even without the head strap.
