Where to go after Eotac?
We are now being bombarded with questions from our customers about what happened to Eotac. We are out of various sizes of tactical pants from Eotac, but we still have a lot left and lots of people don’t believe we have it. It’s almost like Eotac tactical pants are more popular and sought after now that nobody can get them. It really is sad that the company was barely around for 2yrs and just when people are getting to know the product line it goes belly up. We’re still waiting to hear from somebody at Remington on what the situation was. We don’t know if they went out of business, were bought out, or merged with someone else.
After Fernando Coelho left Eotac last year, it’s no surprise that investors may have been concerned about it’s future. Recently Fernando mentioned on Facebook on the Eotac page that if people are looking for something similar your best bet is with Woolrich Elite pants. The fit is different and we’ll leave it up to our customers to say which is better, but considering how many disgruntled 5.11 customers we have, Woolrich Elite products are top notch and I would never bash them. Designs are debatable and Woolrich Elite series shirts, pants and vests have a 95% satisfaction record with our customer base.

This military style jacket is designed for modern flashlights and single or double stack mags. When we need to do a lot of heavy lifting, I don’t like loading my belt up with a belt that looks like Batmans utility belt. The pocket designs are very well made and the snap buttons on the pocket are what puts it in a A+ category for tactical gear. When you hear the click of the buttons you don’t have to worry about watching your 15rd doubel stack 9mm mags flying out of the pockets while your doing physical work. This jacket is defanitely not as heavy looking as it is in some of hte pictures and can easily become a Winter jacket by wearing a good base layer under it.
Open carry isn’t stopping Police Officers in Philadelphia from being shot at. Wearing a blue uniform in that City and wearing body armor meant over 6 police officers being killed at more than double that being shot in the last 2yrs. If you are that concerned about being “Made” with a firearm, carry a different gun. Pocket and ankle carry are suitiable for white color environments and I don’t know any BG that wants 5 or 6 shots of 32acp-44 Special in their chest from a well trained law abiding gun owner.
It doesn’t get any better than this for those of you working in the blue collar neighborhoods or that actually could get away with wearing one of these at work. The Eotac Style 409 Mechanic shirt is one of the most original concealment and tactical shirts we’ve seen this year. There are plenty of uniform tactical shirts out there from 5.11, Woolrich Elite, Proper ect. but this one takes concealment into a different niche.
I’ve seen a few military style jackets at Army Navy type stores, but most wearers are using them just for the look, but not because they really use it for any practical purpose. There are some military style jackets that have good outdoor applications, but recently the very innovative and emerging tactical apparel company called Eotac, has developed something new. The Eotac 502 Field Jackets is far superior to the Woolrich Elite Algerian jacket that has been on the market for a few years. Both jackets are based on the Algerian style military jacket issued in the 1950’s.
