Original Magpul Assists get the job done

I have a bunch of these on my Mini 14 magazines and they work really well.  I did a zombie competition a few years ago and ran a Standard Mini 14 with a folding stock and did quite well.   No malfunctions and the light and handy carbine got the job done.   It really does make a difference having a carbine that weights about 3 pounds lighter than your average AR15 but I’m well aware that the Mini 14 is not a combat worthy firearm.   I had a few friends run AK style guns in this competition and shockingly they did not do well.   The AK variants are known to be robust by the lack of ergonomics with the gun does make it slower to run.

I have the Woolrich Elite 44903 tactical vests and I’ve used them for years, the real appeal of this type of tactical vest is that it is lower profile and more comfortable to wear than a molle vest.   My PMI magazines that I use for my Ruger Mini 14 are the magpul magazine accessories known as the magpul original assists.  They rubber like attachments protrude from the base of the magazine can make the difference in speeding up magazine changes and avoiding any fumbling.   Some tactical vests are so deep that it is difficult to retrieve magazines and for $12 you can resolve that issue.

The best thing about these Magpul products is they work for the Mini 14 guys that can’t afford a Mini 14 or if they just want to be different.   Even though Magpul Pmags for the AR15 have a thicker base and may be easier to grab, you can replace the floor plates with the Magpul Ranger Plates.  We have a large selection of the the Magpul 30rd pmags for sale and the black, OD green, Foliage Green and Flat Dark earth 20rd pmags are the strongest and most reliable AR15 gun magazines.

Magpul Pmags and Magpul furniture

I have not had the time to mess around with every single firearms manufacturers products so I’m not going to go out on a limb and say everyone should buy Mapgul Products. I can tell you that I do not have problems with Magpul accessories and once I upgraded my AR15 rifles to Magpul PRS, and Magpul CTR stocks, and haven’t looked back.  Whenever I look into buying new firearms I usually check them out for their furniture or think about which grips I want attach.   I’m real big on keeping things uniform unless I gotta pick up something exotic.  And that’s most likely going to be a LWRC REPR in the near future.

Magpul vertical grips have changed and now that the M.O.E.  evolution is upon us there have been changes in the way we think about attachments.  Our most durable and reliable AR15 magazines are still the Magpul Pmags, but some other things have changed.  No longer to we attach a light to a rail, we attach the rail to whichever area we want, attach the accessory and end up with a lighter firearm.   At first I didn’t want to deal with changing any of my firearms around, but it’s a very good excuse to buy another Carbine.

Stop screwing around with those inferior gun magazines

I just pulled out one of my gun cases and noticed that I had a couple 30rd magazines still in it.   I never stow loaded magazines in gun cases, but there have been times that I have gone to gun ranges and realized I had a bunch of Mini 14 magazines and not the GI AR15 magazines I thought they were.   I still have a few GI magazines laying around but I never bring them to the range.   It’s funny that I view my AR15s in a different light now that I have been using PMAGS.   Almost a decade ago I use to spend a lot my weekends at a gun range about an hour from me, and use to watch the guys with the AR15’s in amazement because of how much money they had tied up in the firearms.

I finally broke down and picked up a Bushmaster XM15E2 and took it to the range.   I must have had close to 6 malfunctions with it the first month I shot the thing and almost retired the gun.   I heard about Magpul Pmags after a friend sent me the link to a Youtube video.  I picked up one magazine because I didn’t want to end up getting screwed if they weren’t good, well, needless to say I ended up picking up more magazines a few more AR15s.  Magpul industries really has their stuff in order when it means creating combat reliable magazines and accessories.

$13-$15 magazines where to put your money?

Sometimes it really bothers me when people want to argue about everything without really making conclusions about what gear is better.  Yes, I know there are plenty of debates out there about which firearms may be more reliable than others, and there is an answer to that depending on the conditions they operated in, but there is absolutely such a thing as stronger and more durable.  Some people have the lack of critical thinking where discussion about t-shirts preventing bullets from expanding falls into the same argument about how Second Chance body armor is junk, either way your screwed because your bullets won’t expand in one situation and you’re bullet proof vest is going to fail when you get shot.

Well here’s the reality about AR15 magazines….. The M16 is the highest maintenance firearm that has been put into Military Service, but the guns reliability has been dramatically improved by Mapgul Pmags.   There is not argument unless you are total moron, that the Magpul design is stronger and feeds more reliable than any USGI magazine.   USGI magazines are meant to be thrown away and throwing things like that away all the time is a waste of production and resources.   If you can run  your magazines over with your car and then defend your life with them, they are better.

Magazines that aren’t flush fitting

I have never really liked the feel of having a pistol magazine protrude out of the bottom of the gun unless it is because the gun grip is too small for me.  I’ve seen a few of my friends do this on their Glocks, namely the Glock 26 because it is such a small gun.   I did put an extension on a Sig 239 which is the  only gun I currently own that has this.   The first gun that I owned was a Colt 1991A1 and it only came with one pistol magazine.   It was a Colt magazine which i thought would be the best gun magazine to have, but that turned out to not be true.   After having a few problems with the slide stop not catching, I found out the magazine tab was bending and causing the issue.

I believe it was at a gun show that I picked up 2 Wilson Combat magazines and my Colt 1991A1 ran flawlessly with ball ammo.  The gun magazines really ran well with hollow point ammunition but I found the gun to be too picky with hollow point ammo that I pretty much gave up on worrying about it.   If you look at the velocity that a 45acp is flying at, I don’t think you’ll have massive over penetration issues compared to 9mm ball.   Wilson combat magazines have varying base pads and from my experience this is mostly a concern for competition shooters.   If the magazine drops free I don’t need to worry about gripping it and pulling it out for a fast reload.
