Taking down zombies the right way

Sometimes training can be fun and all of this Zombie Apocalypse stuff can be used for good use.  Firearms are dangerous but so are many sports especially contact sports.   Some gun ranges ban silhouette targets because they don’t like the idea of having people on a firearm line and training to shoot human targets.  Well, in all honesty a balanced person shouldn’t have problems shooting at human like targets because that is most likely what a CCW licensed person would be defending themselves against.   The same ranges that ban silhouette targets might allow you to shoot at monsters and zombies.

Many gun clubs have IDPA or various competitions but the zombie shoots have caught on because can and are practical training excersises.   The are big differences in some of the zombie targets that we sell, some are animals and others look like zombie hoards about to attack you.   The best ones are the ones with the zombie attacking you with a weapon.   Knowing how to take down a zombie with a shot to the head or knowing you have the skills to shoot a specific area of the target under stress is real training.  You always save money on on targets when you buy bulk.

The answer to what you want is to go to a store and hold it in your hands

I use to organize lots of gun club events and the best thing about it was being able to try out things that my friends would show up with.  We would even put out requests before hand and ask people to bring a certain firearm out if someone owned it.   It was very cool to have some of my requests fulfilled when I got to shoot a 5.45×39 AK next to a 7.62×39 one.   I did some long range testing with it and anyone with an honest mind will tell you that it makes sense that the Russians switched over to the 5.45×39 caliber.  Shopping for gun accessories online can be a pain and sometimes it’s always best to go back to the manufacturer and ask them.

We’ve had to sell off some of our high end upper receivers whenever we found out that a new version of this was coming out.  Sometimes a slight spring or finish occurs on the AR15 complete upper receivers and its all of a sudden an old version.   Just look at what Glock did with all of the Generations of Glock firearms and the infamous recalls.  I am never one to be the first to buy a firearm because ever since the XD45 came out, I saw guys send them back to the factory for improvements.   That never happened to me with my Sig Sauer pistols so it’s sometimes best to know you are venturing into unknown territory if you try something new.   Ask questions and try things out or put on your Lewis and Clark.

Elite Survival M4 Roller customer responses

We were probable one of the first stocking dealers for the Elite M4 Roller from Elite Survival Systems and although we thought it was a great idea, we know how hard it is to sell certain items online.  Like so many things that are sold online, it’s hard to tell what it really is until you feel it in your hands and hold it.   There are lots of times people order something and don’t pay attention to the dimensions and end up with something much larger or smaller than what they wanted.  Sometimes even the images are not precise.

We we listed the Elite M4 Roller we knew what we were getting into and we  have never sold a bag as large as this but let’s be  honest, how many trunk bags are designed to be used like this and are so well thought out.  The Elite Survival Systems gun cases are our favorite nylon gun bags because we really cover the grounds with all of the variations.  We tend to deal with higher end products like LWRC, Noveske and the like for gun parts and accessories and we thought it would be fitting to avoid the cheapest and least expensive shooting bags.  The M4 roller fills a niche that local Paramedic and Law Enforcement wanted and when they walked in the door at our shop, they got to hold one in their hands and roll it out the door.

Zombie tools for survival

This coming October will be another fun filled Zombie hunting adventure.   I will be reviewing and attending several zombie competition events in the Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware and New Jersery area.   Everything from pistol shoots to bring your fighting carbine and hike through a 6 stage zombie adventure.   One of the best things to learn from a competition event like this is that hits count especially good hits.  It is a forgone conclusion that to take a zombie down, you need head shots and this isn’t a bad thing to practice.    Various stages that I have witnessed where basically 3 gun competitions and even some of them were airsoft.

The only thing I haven’t seen yet at a Zombie shoot was a crossbow, but I did shoot a stage with a long bow.  A good set of tactical pants will get you through the day a lot easier especially if you don’t have a fancy tactical vest.    The Elite Operator Tactical pants we have on promotion right now are the Digital ACU pants.   The pants are hands down the number one tactical pant you should be wearing if you are toting a carbine.   In all honesty, unless you are wearing a leg holster you should be able to get full use of all of the 6 magazine holders in the pockets and these are easily accessed while in the prone positions.   The digital patter ACU pants have been on sale and we are down to limited sizes, but now is the best time to pick them up for your October Zombie adventures.
