Best gun cases for the buck?

Yes, we realize that not everyone looking for an AR15 is  going to want to pick up an LWRC M6A2 so we don’t always stock the most expensive items out there.  There is something to be said for getting what you paid for but not everything has to be expensive.  There are many products that are just what you need and you don’t need all of the added features or added cost.  The  only bad thing about shopping for products like this is they tend to be foreign made products and it’s rare to find good products in a low price range that are Made in the USA.   We stock a lot of the higher end  products especially the tactical nylon gear like the Elite Survival Systems products.

We realize that Uncle Mike’s makes some very nice products but not everything is going to work for you.  One of our top selling online sales for nylon gun cases and gun bags are the Bulldog gun cases which are always very well priced.  These gun cases can help protect your handguns or rifles to and from the firing range, in your closet or just for storing in your gun safe.  There are always varying degrees of rifle case protection and not everyone needs to spend $80-$110 on a padded rifle case.  They do make some very inexpensive assault rifle cases for under $40.  Check them out if you are on a budget.

Range bags and something else for carrying handguns

I have several range bags that I’ve used over the years and they seem to keep getting bigger and bigger.  I have lots of experience taking guns to the range and realizing I forgot a certain caliber handgun or forgot to bring a sight in tool and pretty much spoiled my range day by doing that.   Nothing sucks worse than bringing a rifle to the range and knowing it’s not sighted in and not having the ability to correct it.   My Elite Survival Medium range bag was a step up from my Uncle Mikes range bag because it had a few better thought out features.

One thing I have learned to do is pack the bare minimum of firearm accessories, hearing protection and eye wear.  If I am taking a training course I usually use my Elite Survival bags like the 4 gun pistol pack.   I have modified that firearm bag to just use my combat or primary weapons.  It is outfitted with the  molle attachments that pertain to that caliber magazine, radio or other tools.   This Elite Survival bag can easily handle 4 large frame handguns and magazines.   My Beretta 92FS, Sig 229, Springfield XD and my Ruger GP100 all fit very well in this gun bag.

There is a method of concealment for each situation

When Summer rolls around here it sometimes gets difficult to carry the firearm that you carrid in the Winter.  Several of my Law Enforcement buddies have told me that they carry Sig 230’s most of the time and keep it simple.   I have friends that carry full size 1911s, they can conceal them very well but carry it near the spine is not a safe way to carry in my opinion and it’s hard to run and play baseball when  you carry a large frame firearm.  The Glock 26 is another firearm that many carry in the Summer because its a much shorter gun that can almost be carried in a pocket.

I never bash people for carrying in a fanny pack because I had to do it for a job and most people I talked to said I looked like a Pizza delivery guy and it fit the situation.  I noticed many women carrying at parks with something that could easily be Blackhawk gun cases or a Blackhawk Fanny pack.   The only bad thing about some of the tactical bags and the fanny packs is seeing the name on the bag which can be a dead giveaway to a profession, but from my experience the dumbest criminals tend to be the biggest threats.

Coming this Fall at Rogue Elite

Not only have we finished setting up our new tactical shop here in Broomall, we are getting setup for the Fall outwear promo with TruSpec.  This year Gunny will be releasing his own tactical pant from TruSpec and we were happy to hear that this tactical pants has a gussetted crotch.  This has probable the only consistent complaint we got about the TruSpec pants.  They really are comfortable to wear and the pockets are very unique.  The material designs make it an easy transition from 5.11 tactical pants to the TruSpec design because they are both a polyester cotton blend.  Its hard to find places to try stuff like this on but now we have a location here in Southeaster Pennsylvania.

Tru Spec has a big 2 month long outerwear promotion going on from October 1st to November 30th and it will be a good time to stop in early October to get the best deals and selections.   There aren’t too many places to tryout things like this and Philadelphia Police and Security Supplies doesn’t usually mean that you are selling tactical pants.  Many stores that market that mostly deal with uniforms and the like but we are a full stocking dealer for Tru spec pants, jackets, vests, shorts and jackets.  We are located in the Broomall Industrial Park just right off of 476 South.  We are open Tuesday- Friday 12am-6pm and Saturday’s  10am-5pm.

Avoiding stockpiles of unused gun accessories and gun cases

There is always a starting point in this industry for all of us and many of us have the same stories about how we got into shooting guns and all of the mistakes about buying crap gear or crap optics and finding out the end result.   We’ve been offered many product lines in the past year but many of them we turn down based on Warranties and durability.  The products we get the most complaints about get removed from our inventory and we move on.   There are so many times I hear people refer to the closet in their home where they keep all of their unused holsters that they thought they might need someday but never use.

Gun cases are  probable the next thing in line of piling up in your house but you are afraid to throw them away.  I have many of my original handgun cases that came from the factory but these are not as practical to transport like like some of the Allen gun cases that I have used over the years.   I swear I have more gunsocks in my house then I have regular socks and I honestly don’t remember buying them.  They always seem to come with the used rifles or shotguns I own.  Allen pistol rugs are big sellers for handguns and we have lots of them around.

Keeping gun storage and transportation a simple thing

Not everyone is going to need to justify spending $100 on a gun case for every rifle that they own.  Now that I have over 20yrs of experience under my belt in breaking things and wearing them out.   We have been taking on more and more inventory of the Elite Survival Systmes rifle cases and the Cover Operations Gun cases are some of the best high end gun cases for anyone carrying a $2000 rifle and $1200 optic.  The gun case design is outstanding and the foam lining is superior do all of those similar looking gun cases that cost about half as much.

When we take stuff to the range one of the main things we want to do is protect the finish of the firearm.   Secondly depending of the cost of the firearm something as simple as the Bulldog gun cases like the  pistol rug are hot sellers for transporting handguns.  If you have a scoped handgun these  might work for  you also. Some of them for about $10 get the job done don’t take up a  lot of storage space when you are unpacking and putting things away.   Hard cases may protect your firearm better but they can take up more space and make it harder to hang up or stack up.

Gun bags and gun cases, a hard sell online?

We’ve had so many people tell us they are glad to see a place like ours in our area because so much of what we carry are things people want to hold in their hands before they buy.  We have chosen the Elite Survival Systems product line as our premier tactical nylon product line and with the majority of the products being made in the USA, it’s been an easy sell to anyone that has never heard of them.  When people tell us they are looking for range bag, they usually have a preference in the size of compartments they need and considering the wide range of firearms out there, some times they are very, very specifici.

When it comes to gun cases, we have heard the same thing over and over again, a guy gets an AR15, and the gun case fits the gun.   The same person puts accessories on his firearm and then it doesn’t fit and then they stop in and pick up the Elite Survival gun cases and gun bags like the Covert Operations Discreet case.   The Elite Tactical Messenger bag has also been a hit with the EMS community.  We have sold many of the Ultimate Sniper Drag Bags to military and civilians and they are some of the best thought out gun cases we have ever sold.

Hunting rifles, handguns and assault rifle cases and that’s the easy part

There are so many variations and configurations of just something like an M4 Carbine that you would be amazed at how hard it can be to put a gun in a case once you add on a different optic or flashlight.  I have modified some of my M4 Carbines 2-3 times and always ended up finding out the gun wouldn’t fit right when I came about 4 inches away from zipping up the gun cases I used.  I have several M4 Carbines and it’s always nice to just close up the adjustable stock, but different barrel lengths can mean needing a different gun case.

Measure your overall length for long guns before you buy a gun case online.  People tend to forget about over all length when they order Allen gun cases from us and sometimes have to exchange the sizes.  Gun cases are a royal pain in the butt to ship and we often have to add on shipping charges because once you get to certain size gun case you really can’t fold the case over again or risk damaging the formation of the material.  The Allen assault rifle cases are in a good price range and if that’s all you need in a gun case, their products are well made in that price range.

Soft gun cases with versatility and for a decent price

Everytime I walk out of a gun shop with a new long gun I try to make sure that I have  soft gun case available if I have to take several guns to and from the range.  There have been times I’ve packed things wrong and a few times ended up putting dents in areas that I shouldn’t have.  Not everyone can afford to spend $100 on a customized gun case although some firearms really demand this.  If you want to pack up your pistols and don’t want to have to put too much thought into which size gun bag to get.  Just spend $8 on a bulldog gun case and you’re all done.

Not every trip to the ranges demands and SKB gun case with multiple pouches or accessories.  When I pack up my handguns or better yet, when I’m only bringing one or two handguns these Bulldog gun cases like the pistol rug, hardly burn a hole in your pocket and give  you enough protection for reasonable bouncing around. You might even be able to pick up the bulldog cell phone case for you.  Bulldog also  has a molded pistol case which can give you even more protection.

Recon sleeping bags are they any good?

We get asked so many questions about certain products that at some point we’re going to have to just put up a FAQ’s on the website but at this time I really don’t have the time to do it.  People ask us if the products we sell are any good and that’s really an answer you’ll have to get on  your own.  From past experiences if we have a problem with a product line we usually dump it which is one reason we are so particular about what type of clothing we sell. Every product line has issues from time to time, but if we reach a boiling point, we dump the product line.

Many products out there are used for things that they are not  intended to be  used for and there a  great many ways to look up reviews and get feedback on them.  Right now one of our biggest selling product lines are the Elite Survival Systems recon sleeping bags which are flying out the door.  There really isn’t much out there to argue about these because the ratings on them are pretty accurate for any0ne with realistic expectations.  The Elite Survival Systems product line has started to expand out to real survival systems with emergency food and emergency bags.
